Help removing and preventing spyware - using BFU
You can download Brute Force Uninstaller (BFU from now on) from several loactions.
I will list a few:
SpywareInfo
MajorGeeks
Unzip the program to a folder of it's own.
That way you have a folder to store your scripts in.
This folder will be the first one where BFU looks for them.
Start the program by doubleclicking BFU.exe and you will see:
Use the button the arrow points at, to open an explorer window, in which you can look for the script.
Once the correct script is shown and the other settings have been set as advised, you can click the Execute button to run the script.
If it is a long script you might see a progressbar. The endresult should look like this.
You can also use online scripts without having to download them first.
In BFU click the "Web-button" (see screenshot)
and enter the URL to the script in the popup-box.
Make sure the script was run if you use this method. Firewalls (and maybe other programs) may interfere, but BFU will show that prompt even after running an empty script.
Click OK and Exit to terminate the program.
Many thanks to Merijn for another great tool in the fight against spyware
